Hello!
This is Anita☆ speaking.
I wanted a place to write my thoughts in a more long-form way. Letting little tidbits of personal life squeeze by in the gamelog is cute but it wasn't cutting it anymore. If you got an update on your RSS feed and were expecting games, sorry about that! I plan to also write about more interesting stuff than just daily life (still haven't forgotten about that Necrobius writeup!!!) but, in the meantime, please do keep up with it (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)
I had a look at the journal on my old site so I could copy my own code to get some inspo while coding this and it's pretty funny how much my life has changed since then. It's been three years but still! I live in a different country now. I'm no longer a student and I've been working in The Industry for a while (employment reveal!!!1 I know I still give off NEET energy.). My biggest worry at the moment is not popping off one of the brackets in my mouth - other than work, but I'm working on not letting it get to me after my shift is done. My boyfriend helps with that! Life is good.
I do miss my old country though, since I only moved here for employment purposes. Everything is more affordable here and I pay less for a whole ass apartment than what I paid for a room in my country. But you just miss the people, the weather, the culture, y'know? And I guess just making friends out of school is pretty hard, but even more so when you're a complete outsider now. Plus, I'd like to say I'm pretty open-minded and enjoy learning about the world, but I struggle a bit with certain cultural differences. Not that everyone is the same, but still.
I actually went home for my birthday (I find it a bit funny that I always seem to blog around my birthday.), and to my boyfriend's as well. I had a lot of fun and I miss it dearly!
We went to a videogame museum there. It was expensive as hell, which was to be expected of the capital. You could only stay for a couple of hours but I think no one noticed that we spent the whole evening there. As a museum it kind of sucked. You'd b better off reading the first few chapters of Donovan's Replay and you'd learn a whole lot more, for sure. I particularly disliked the American angle of vidya history you always find in this type of millennial-pandering events. We already know about the 1983 videogame crash and the console war! Still, the museum's gimmick was that you play everything in there, so as an arcade it was pretty nice. So here's Anita next to a oscilloscope display where we played a Tennis for Two clone. I was looking forward to try out the Magnavox Odyssey, but sadly the TV it was on wasn't functioning properly. Still, I was content seeing the screen overlays in real life at last.
I think that's enough for now. It was nice writing to the void for a change. I do feel a bit self conscious about it, though. If you're still reading this, remember to game on ★.
Can you tell I pretty much copied what was there in the old site for the blog layout? As long as it works, right?
Well, see ya!
